ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST HAVE A RELEASE OF LIABILITY FORM on file for 2023(can be completed at the start).

DATE: September 9, 2023

TIME: 7:30 am –  We will begin walking at 7:45 am.

MEET LOCATION: small parking lot on the left past the upper Ore Dock, across from Presque Isle boat ramp, Upper Harbor, Marquette, Michigan

GUIDE(s): Brian Murphy

CONDITIONS: the trail consists of dirt, wood decking, sandy dunes, a beach, and some muck. Some uneven footing and not much shade. No bathrooms during the main walk; bring water, snack, sunscreen, and bug dope. Wear sturdy shoes and rugged (LONG) pants. Please come prepared for the predicted weather.

PLAN: from the main trail entrance, we will hike counter-clockwise around the bog, visit the beach area, cut across to Moosewood Nature Center, and then back up the dirt maintenance road. We will then walk around Presque Isle. Please do not play bird recordings. Please inform your guide if you leave early.

CANCELATION:  if conditions prevent a safe and enjoyable outing, the event will be canceled within ONE HOUR of the starting time via text messages and Facebook announcement.
